The Introduction of Plastic Valves

Plastic valves are gaining more importance then metal valves in today's society. Although metal valves are considered more durable but plastic valves provide numerous benefits. Valves which are made of plastic are anti corrosive. They are suitable for both hot and cold water. They are used in many applications from house hold to industrial scale. Valves of plastic are light weight as compare to metal valves. They are relatively easy to install. They are more useful in moist environment due to their high anti corrosion resistance. They are made in multiple classes and types depending on their use.

Metals get rusted easily. Hence frequent repairs and replacements may be required in metal pipes which make them more expensive piping solution. Plastic plumbing parts are non hazardous hence they are a safe solution. In plastic piping systems, it is much easy to measure temperature and pressure. Use of plastic valves is replacing the traditional metal valves day by day.

Plastic valves are non toxic. They don't react with acid and alkalis. No doubt valves of plastic are a cost effective solution. They don't pour any taste in liquids flowing through them. Hence they are odorless or flavorless.

Installation of plastic valves is quite easy. but it requires concentration. During installation fixtures like bolts and flanges must be carefully handled otherwise they may have threading injuries and peeling which is more common in metal valves. Plastic valves are made in many sizes and dimensions. But in special scenarios they may also be manufactured on order. In disposing plastic plumbing components, some international standards should be strictly followed to avoid any hazard.

Materials which are used for making plastic valves are thermoplastic, vinyl and poly vinyl. Plastic dual contaminated valves are also becoming common in plumbing applications. They are used in such applications where hazardous substances are more frequently used. For example: cross contamination is unacceptable in water treatment sector and chemical dosing is required in it. Hence plastic dual valves are used in them. Dual containment pipes are also used in bunded storage tanks which is beneficial for extending integrity and security to the pipe system.

Dual containment pipe works is a cost affective solution and this reason of growing demand of these valves. It utilizes volatile metallic components and pipes. Installation of dual containment pipe works is a continuous single process, Whereas traditional systems require more time and more labor in fitting.
