Malaysia Initiated an Ad Duty Investigation Regarding Steel Products Imported From China

The Malaysian government has announced that it has initiated an antidumping (AD) duty investigation regarding stranded wire, rope and cables imported from China.

The investigation was started upon the complaint filed by the Malaysia-based stranded wire, rope and cables producer Southern PC Steel Sdn Bhd, which claimed that the goods in question are being imported from China into Malaysia at a price much lower than the price in the Chinese domestic market. The applicant also provided evidence that the imports of the abovementioned products from China have increased in terms of absolute quantity.

The goods subject to investigation are currently classified under Harmonized System Code Number 7312.10.000.
