Eaton Scientific Systems Is Planning to Develop a Transdermal Patch Delivery System

The subsidiary of Pristine Solutions, Eaton Scientific Systems, is planning to develop a transdermal patch delivery system for Tropine 3, a homatropine to treat non-hormonal hot flashes in pre-menopausal, peri-menopausal and post-menopausal women.

Eaton Scientific CEO Michael Borkowsk said Tropine 3 uses the convenience and dose control accuracy of a transdermal medicated patch delivery system.

"Based upon the popular use of Estrogen patches in hormone replacement therapy, it's readily apparent that a high percentage of women could have the same preference when choosing a safe non-hormonal transdermal patch to safely reduce their hot flashes symptoms,'' Borkowski added.

''We feel this is an opportunity to develop another unique, marketable, and potential patentable feature exclusive to Tropine 3 and Eaton Scientific."

Tropine 3 (homatropine in suspension) molecules are expected to be ideal for transdermal patch delivery.

The company is also planning to contract with drug delivery system provider to assist the development of the transdermal Tropine 3 patch.

The system provides controlled medicine release into the patient through either a porous membrane covering a reservoir of medication or through body heat melting thin layers of medication embedded in the adhesive.
