Walmart will convene approximately 1,500 people, including representatives from more than 500 supplier companies, 32 states, major retail industry leaders and other retailers, at its U.S. Manufacturing Summit. According to a press release, the summit will build on Walmart's commitment to drive more American manufacturing as an industry.
Walmart and the National Retail Federation (NRF) are partnering to bring all sides together. Governors and state officials will have the opportunity to connect directly with hundreds of manufacturers who are ready to create jobs in their areas. Likewise, for supplier companies, it is an opportunity to present potential projects and learn about the resources available in different states. The summit will be webcast live and can be followed on Twitter @Walmartnewsroom #MadeinUSA. A replay of the summit will be made available shortly afterwards.
