The turnover of the Swedish chain of DIY stores Byggmax increased by 22.2% to SEK451.4m in the first quarter of 2012 vis à vis the same period last year. This increase in turnover is partially due to the opening of new stores. Calculated on the basis of the same sales area, growth only amounted to 14.6%. The EBIT indeed improved to -SEK9.6m, however it still remained very clearly in the red. The result prior to tax amounted to -SEK18m. The loss for the period could be reduced to -SEK13m.
