Birchwood Elementary School Has Unveiled a Series of Gorgeous Stained Glass Window Panels

Birchwood Elementary School has unveiled a series of gorgeous stained glass window panels, designed by students for the window in the school’s library.

Called A World of Coloured Glass – Our Life at Birchwood, the stained-glass panels were designed to illustrate student life at the school.

Each 3-by-8-foot panel was drawn and designed by students, who have been working since early January with art teacher Erin Wainwright, as well as with a group of volunteer parents and artist Nicole Tremblay.

“Every Birchwood student from Grade 1 to 6 has worked on this project,” said school principal Coleen Turner.

She came up with the idea for the stained glass windows when she first saw the space in the mezzanine area of the school.

“The windows were just a wide open space crying out for colour.”

The panels were installed on Friday, April 12.
