Coiledspring has grown its headcount after sales of its Schmidt puzzle range doubled.
The firm started supplying the line to UK retail in 2011. The Ligretto and adult jigsaws got off to a strong start, as did the John Deere products, and the range is now growing for 2013.
"I think the reason the adult jigsaws sold so well was the outstanding quality and range of images. We couldn't have predicted the demand for the John Deere range – it exceeded everyone's expectations," Coiledspring's MD Roger Martin told ToyNews.
"The Jigsaws Plus are such a good idea – even when the jigsaw is finished there's still a toy to be played with. In 2012 we doubled the turnover. We're now continuing to grow the jigsaw range and the market."
This success has also helped Coiledspring grow. In 2011 Stephen Woodman joined as head of sales, before the firm outgrew its warehousing space and moved into its own shared 3,000 sq ft premises in June 2012. The firm also hired admin and warehouse staff, and Rachael Wyatt joined as marketing manager towards the end of 2012.
