Sudpack Medica and SSB Joined Forces to Co-Operate in Manufacturing Plastic Film

Medical product suppliers Südpack Medica and Sartorius Stedim Biotech (SSB) have joined forces to co-operate in manufacturing plastic film for the biopharmaceutical market. According to the agreement, SSB will use plastic film materials from Südpack to manufacture single-use bags, which are used in the pharmaceutical industry for cell cultivation and storage of biopharmaceutical liquids. Furthermore, the two companies will work together to improve multi-layer films which could, for example, make single-use bioreactors. The first new products will be on the market next year. "Südpack Medica has already been developing and manufacturing packaging solutions for medical product manufacturers for many years, " Johannes Remmele, MD of Südpack, said in a statement.
