Cancer Treatment Centers of America(CTCA)at Western Regional Medical Center(WRMC)in Arizona,US,has purchased BSD Medical's BSD-2000 Hyperthermia system.
CTCA,which is comprised of a network of hospitals including WRMC,provides effective cancer treatments and integrative therapies to treat cancer and improve patient's treatment experience and quality of life.
Under the purchase,the 213,000ft2 WRMC all-digital cancer hospital will use BSD-2000 system to provide treatment for cancer patients in the major metropolitan areas of Phoenix,Denver,Los Angeles,Las Vegas,Seattle,Portland and Albuquerque,US.
By applying radiofrequency energy,the CE-marked BSD-2000 delivers localized therapeutic heating and target the shape,size,and location of the tumor.
In addition,the BSD-2000 system has received the FDA's Humanitarian Device Exemption approval for use in conjunction with radiation therapy for the treatment of cervical cancer patients who are ineligible for chemotherapy.
