Schur Pack Germany, makers of folding boxes, is building a 28,000 square metres folding box facility with an investment of around €70m, said to be one of Europe's most modern.
The company is making this investment at the future Business Park A24 location to offer with the aim of providing it with a sustainable corporate development.
Schur will also be investing majorly in production equipments to meet the increasing customer requirements regarding quality and reduced delivery times.
Schur will be using regenerative sources to complete the plant's construction. There would be no need for fossil fuels in the entire building.
Schur Pack Germany managing director Klaus Madsen said: "The outstanding efficiency and the new quality standards that are offered by our plant are simply unique. Most notably, for our customers this means: outstanding quality, highest hygiene standards and shortest delivery times. With this, we come even closer to our customers."
With the investments, the company will also add new products to its portfolio. Apart from enhancing the printing quality, the company will also make available innovative finishing technology, like hot and cold foil for its customers.
Plant manager Andreas Lührs said: "Our new plant has the highest possible degree of automation available on the market. We are particularly proud of our fully-automated high-bay warehouse."
The new plant would also feature Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV) for efficient flow and production processes.
Operations manager at Schur Pack Germany Jan Bollweg said: "We completely utilise the possibilities offered by cutting edge intra logistics in the new plant and guarantee optimised work processes for our customers to realize shortest delivery times."
