The New Data Show a 19-Percent Growth in Iran S Cement Output

According to a report published by Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO), the new data show a 19-percent growth in Iran s cement output compared to corresponding figures last year, Mehr news agency reported. The report added that Iranian companies produced 6.372 million tons of cement in Tir (4th month in solar calendar, June 22 - July 22). Mohammad Hassan Pourkhalil, the secretary of the Cement Industry Contractors Union, also said that Iran exported 940,000 tons of cement in this month. Pourkhalil noted that Iran s exports of cement and clinker surpassed 3.400 million tons during March 21 and July 22, showing a 14 percent growth compared with the same period last year. Last month, Iran launched two new cement factories in the provinces of West Azarbaijan and Golestan. Khoy cement factory, which cost 140 million dollars, has the capacity to produce more than one million tons of cement each year. Galikesh cement factory, which employs some 210 workers and cost about 165 million dollars, has the capacity to produce more than 3,400 tons of cement per day. Source: uaecement.com
