According to the statistics released by the Taiwan Ministry of Economic Affairs, in April this year Taiwan's basic metal and basic metal product export orders amounted to $2.3 billion, down 3.1 percent compared to the previous month and falling nine percent compared to April 2012. The country's basic metal and basic metal product export orders were down 12.7 percent and by 23.3 percent in March and February respectively, both on year-on-year basis.
The country's basic metal and basic metal product export orders in the first four months of the current year amounted to a value of $8.95 billion, falling by nine percent compared to the same period of 2012.
