Global packaging company MeadWestvaco (MWV) has received its Robinson EN 1230-2 sensory analysis approval for its Printkote paperboard for chocolate and confectionery packaging.
Printkote is safe for direct food contact and offers a 'dead fold' performance, which results in a squarer and tighter package helping to elevate brands in the minds of consumers. The product meets the standards of packaging seen in the European chocolate and confectionery
According to MWV, the analysis tests the paperboard's ability to maintain product quality without a trace of taint or odor from the packaging, while Printkote's approval on the Robinson test confirms the company's ability to maintain product integrity.
The approval also provides brand owners with confidence in packaging solutions for their luxury confectionery products.
Earlier in 2012, MWV's Crescendo paperboard also received its Robinson certification for chocolate and confectionery packaging.
