Lotus F1 has announced a four-year partnership with IT services and solutions provider EMC that the team hopes will help lead it to the FIA Formula 1 World Championship.
The deal will see EMC aid Lotus with more agile and cost-efficient systems - both at its Enstone factory and at the track - as the team faces the challenges of new regulations in the sport, which come into place at the start of the 2014 season.

Formula 1 cars will switch from V8 engines to turbo-charged V6 units and will integrate new Energy Recovery System technology. The changes will significantly impact on car design, aerodynamics and engineering, which will see IT and data analysis become even more important as Lotus prepares a World Championship challenge under the new regulations.
"In today's Formula 1, technology is critical to producing a winning car. If we're going to do that in 2014 - and ultimately challenge for the World Championship - we need the best IT resources available, and that is why we have chosen EMC," said Patrick Louis, CEO of Lotus F1 Team.
"This is another step forwards for Lotus F1 Team as we transform how we deliver our IT services at both Enstone and trackside locations throughout the world.
"By providing converged infrastructure and cloud-ready technology, EMC will help us accelerate our journey to the cloud - and to success on the track," he continued, adding EMC will be crucial to the World Championship ambitions of Lotus.
"Today, Lotus F1 Team is a title contender and our target is very clear: to be World Champions in 2015. We need strong partners to reach that target, and EMC is one such partner. EMC provides us with the best hardware, software, security, reliability and availability.
"These will be key factors in us being successful in our venture to build a winning car and to becoming world champions," Louis added.
The EMC deal marks part of Lotus F1 team's roadmap to be World Champions by 2015.
