Everlight's market share for LED light bulbs in Taiwan reached 60% a month ago, said Robert Yeh, chairman of the Taiwan-based LED packaging house. The firm will continue to strengthen distribution channels for consumers to have easy access to its products, added Yeh.
Yeh indicated strong confidence in competing with South Korea-based Samsung as the latter has been eager to lower prices on LED products. Yeh said that Taiwan-based firms will not exit the LED lighting market and will continue to strengthen distribution channels.
Lite-On is currently showcasing the latest glass tube lights that are comply with the latest tube fluorescent lighting standards in Japan, the JEL801. This product can replace the traditional fluorescent tube lights and save up to 45% of energy. Lite-On indicated the firm's strategy is to do OEM production for brands. The firm began shipping the glass tube lightings in second-quarter 2012. Lite-On anticipates performances in the third quarter to exceed the second quarter and lighting orders to show growths.
LED lighting packaging house Edison Opto noted that as demand for LED lighting increases, the firm will continue to push for higher quality and better services and use differentiation to obtain market shares. Revenues from second-half 2012 are expected to account for 60% of total 2012 revenues, said Edison Opto.
