The Spanish textiles Export Price Index (IPRIX), for the month of December 2013, shows a decline of 0.6 percent, compared to the same month in 2012, as per the data released by National Institute of Statistics in Spain.
According to the INE data, the IPRIX of overall exports from Spain has also incurred a decrease of 2.8 percent in the month of December 2013, compared to the same month in 2012.The total IPRIX recorded in December is one tenth more than the IPRIX registered in November 2013.
The IPRIX in the sector of manufacture of garments also registered a fall of 0.6 percent in December 2013, compared to the same month in 2012.
Meanwhile, the Import Price Index (IPRIM) data from the INE reveals that the IPRIM of the textile industry in Spain has also registered a decrease of 1.1 percent year-on-year in December 2013.
The IPRIM registered in the manufacture of garment sector of Spain also dipped by 2 percent in the month of December 2013, compared to the same month in 2012.
The IPRIM of the overall Spanish imports recorded a plunge of 2.4 percent year-on-year in the month of December 2013, which is four tenths higher than the IPRIM registered in the previous month.
The IPRIX measures the change in prices of industrial products manufactured in Spain for export to other countries, on a monthly basis, whereas the IPRIM indicates the monthly changes in prices of industrial products imported by Spain from other countries.
