Earning NT$5.14 per share in after-tax net income in the Jan.-Nov.period of 2012,Taiwan Mobile Corp.led its Taiwanese peers in the telecom-service industry.
In the meantime,Chunghwa Telecom Co.,Ltd.netted NT$4.95 per share while Far EasTone Telecom Co.,Ltd.made NT$3.11.
In November,the top profit maker scored after-tax net income of NT$1.36 billion(US$46 million at US$1:NT$29),or NT$0.51 per share,on consolidated revenue of NT$8.2 billion(US$282 million).The revenue result represented a 0.66%decrease from a month earlier but a 9.27%increase from a year earlier.The company's operating income and EBITDA(earnings before interest,taxes,depreciation and amortization)for November were NT$1.63 billion(US$56 million)and NT$2.46 billion(US$84 million),respectively.
Taiwan Mobile Chief Finance Officer Rosie Yu pointed out that thanks to an increase in mobile data revenue the company's mobile service revenue and EBITDA rose 5%and 2%year on year in November,respectively.In the Jan.-Nov.period,the company had total EBITDA and after-tax net income,attaining 91%and 96%of its goals for 2012,respectively.
In November,Chunghwa had after-tax net income of NT$3.84 billion(US$132 million),or NT$0.49 per share,an increase of 2.2%from the same month of last year.In the same month,the company had non-consolidated revenue of NT$15.6 billion(US$538 million),inching down 0.55%from a month earlier and 0.74%year on year.
In the Jan.-Nov.period,Chunghwa had total revenue of NT$172.9 billion(US$5.9 billion),attaining 91.5%of its goal for 2012.Meanwhile,the company's after-tax net income totaled NT$38.3 billion(US$1.3 billion),or NT$4.94 per share,constituting 97.9%of its goal for the year.
Chunghwa executives pointed out that the number of the company's customers of broadband-connection service further increased in November from October,with customers connected to the Internet subscribing to the company's optic-fiber lines totaling 27.08 million in November.
Chunghwa's revenue from mobile value-added services for the first eleven months this year surged 34%from the same period of last year.In the meantime,its multimedia on demand(MOD)customers increased to 11.9 million in November.
Far EasTone had consolidated revenue of NT$6.9 billion(US$239 million)in November alone,decreasing 3.8%from a month earlier but increasing 5.27%year on year.Its EBITDA and after-tax net income were NT$2.1 billion(US$72 million)and NT$969 million(US$33 million),respectively.Its EPS for the Jan.-Nov.period exceeded annual goal of NT$3.08 per share.
