Partnership with Delphi Automotive Is Formed by Savari

Savari has formed a partnership with Delphi Automotive to offer its technology for everyday cars.

The US Department of Transportation (DOT) and the University of Michigan Transport Research Institute (UMTRI) are using Savari's Vehicle Awareness Devices (VAD) and Road Side Equipment (RSE) for a vehicle safety pilot.

The pilot involves equipping 2800 cars, buses and trucks in the Ann Arbor, Michigan, US area and using roadside equipment installed in the city to test potential benefits of crash avoidance technologies to reduce accidents, injuries and fatalities.

DOT will study results to determine how regulatory agencies may proceed on implementing ITS systems to improve transportation safety.

Delphi will assist Savari in placing its VADs into passenger vehicles for the UMTRI Safety Pilot deployment.

Savari CEO Ravi Puvvala said that the company's products are recognized by automotive manufacturers as well as the U.S. Department of Transportation.

"Successful adoption of such future technologies into passenger cars can be made possible by fully capable suppliers who can provide the necessary vehicle integration," Puvvala said.
