ECOtality, a provider of clean electric transportation and storage technologies, has completed the installation four Blink Wall Mount electric vehicle (EV) charging stations located at the northwest corner of Glimcher's Lloyd Center in Portland, US.
ECOtality Corporate Development VP Colin Read said the partnership with Lloyd Center will go a long way in providing an alternative to fossil fuels for EV drivers in Portland.
"Building a sustainable infrastructure means offering EV drivers the opportunity to integrate the responsibilities of daily life, with the ability to charge their vehicles along the way," Read said.
The new charging stations at the mall is part of Glimcher's overall sustainability efforts, which include a recycling program, environment friendly cleaning supplies and renewable energy.
Glimcher director of Operations Charlie Kretzer said, "We are pleased to partner with ECOtality to bring this focus outside of the mall to our shoppers in a convenient and cost-effective manner."
ECOtality is the project manager of the EV Project, which will study EV infrastructure to support the deployment of EVs in key markets, by collecting and analyzing data from vehicles and chargers. The project is funded in part by the US Department of Energy through a federal stimulus grant.
