Sofitalia Upholstery Brand Returns to High Point Market

HIGH POINT --- Leather upholstery resource Sofitalia is returning to the High Point Market with a lineup of 14 seating groups targeting middle price points.

The company, a unit of Italian leather producer Incanto, has a new showroom in space G-774 of the International Home Furnishings Center and has hired furniture industry veteran Les Herman to oversee operations in North America and South America.

Herman said the Sofitalia line, designed by founder Giovanni Sforza, is produced in China using leathers from South America.

The line includes stationary and motion groups featuring contemporary, transitional and traditional styles. The company employs leather covers in a variety of fashion-forward colors, he said.

"For Giovanni, each sofa is a fashion creation' born by design inspiration," Herman said. "All materials must be of the highest quality. Production craftsmanship and care in the choice of materials characterize every furniture piece we produce."

Sforza founded Sofitalia in 2004. The company briefly had a partnership with LacquerCraft in 2009 and 2010, but the line hasn't been available in the U.S. for about two years.

Incanto will continue to exhibit its line in a separate showroom, space D-721 of the IHFC.
