Toyota Industries Corporation (TICO), the parent company of Toyota Material Handling Australia (TMHA), has been recognised as the leading global material handling equipment supplier for 2010-11 by German material handling magazine DHF Intralogistik. DHF Intralogistik named TICO the sector leader in its world ranking list 2010-11 based on sale of materials, which amounted to €4.172 billion (approximately $A5 billion). TICO was the only supplier on the list to cross the four billion Euro threshold. Companies must generate a turnover of at least €10 million during the reporting year to be eligible for inclusion in DHF Intralogistik's world ranking list. TMHA Executive Vice President and COO Steve Takacs said Toyota's success in material handling was due to constantly meeting customer expectations. "The coveted number one ranking on DHF Intralogistik's influential global ranking is confirmation of Toyota's ongoing commitment to high-quality, reliable, safe and environmentally-sound forklifts and warehouse equipment, " he said. "It also speaks volumes about Toyota's efficient manufacturing systems and ability to deliver market-leading equipment with a high level of after-sales support. " TICO's material handling division - Toyota Material Handling Group (TMHG) - has five regional organisations covering Japan, China, North America, Europe and international. It sold more than 153, 000 units in its material handling division worldwide in 2010-11 - representing a growth rate of 38 per cent compared with the previous year. In Australia, Toyota has led the counter-balance forklift market continuously for 25 years. TMHA distributes the Toyota Industrial Equipment range of material handling equipment alongside the BT Lift Truck and Raymond Forklift ranges of warehouse equipment. Source: myfen.com.au
