Baker Hughes Reported That for The Week Ending August 22 The Us Rig Count Decreased by 17

Baker Hughes reported that for the week ending August 22 the US rig count decreased by 17 to 1,896, following a five-rig increase the week before. The rig count is still up by 120 from 1,776 rigs during the same week a year ago. The gas rig count increased by nine to 330, whereas the oil rig count decreased by 25 to 1,564.

Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count increased by four in the week ending August 22 to reach 405 following a 14-rig increase the previous week. The Canadian rig count is now up 22 from 383 rigs during the same week a year ago.
