Chile's Softwood Lumber Exports Dropped by 17%

Chile's softwood lumber exports dropped by 17% in a year-on-year comparison to 583, 873 m³ in the second quarter of 2012, according to preliminary information from Odepa. This fall was mainly due to a slump in deliveries to South Korea and the USA by 52 % to 62, 626 m³ and 81% to 19, 979 m³, respectively. The sometimes significant increases in deliveries to other important export market were insufficient to offset these slumps. Source: euwid-wood-products
