According to data of the Turkish Iron and Steel Producers' Association (TCUD), Turkey’s production of finished steel totaled 14.6 billion tons in the first five months of this year, increasing by 1.9% year on year.
Among them 10.5 million tons were steel long products, down by 1% and 4 million tons were steel flat products, rising by 10.2%, both compared to those in the same period a year ago.
In the given period of time, Turkey’s consumption of steel products totaled 12 million tons, increasing by 4.1% year on year.
The consumption of steel long products totaled 6.2 million ton, rising by 3.1%, that of steel flat products was at 5.8 million tons, increasing by 5.2%, both compared to those in the same period of a year ago.
