According to Ledinside's Retail Global 40W LED Bulb ASP Dipped 2.3% to US$15.80

According to LEDinside's retail findings for October 2013, global 40W LED bulb ASP dipped 2.3% to US$15.80, with price declines most evident in the UK. Conversely, the global 60W LED bulb ASP rose 1.2% to US$21.60.

Pricing in the UK declined 11% and pre-existing product prices steadily decreased, with the largest decline seen from Samsung and Osram. Pricing for 40W LED bulbs in the UK dropped as low as US$8.10, Pricing for 40W LED bulbs in the US dropped as low as US$9, the firm said.

LEDinside forecasts 2014 LED lighting product shipments to reach 1.32 billion units, a growth of 68% from 2013. Shipment volume for replacement light sources such as LED bulbs is especially anticipated to increase, with companies such as IKEA already distributing LED bulbs in volume. Attitude towards LED lighting by traditional luminaire makers such as Philips has become more aggressive. Spurred by various large lighting brand vendors and end channels, 2014 LED bulb shipment volume is anticipated to grow exponentially, the firm added.
