Bekaert Textiles Wants to Express Its Trust in The South-Western European Markets

A purchase agreement has been concluded under the terms of which Enbasa Laval is joining the Bekaert Textiles group.

Enbasa Laval is producing woven and knitted mattress ticking and has also (about 15%) specialized non-ticking activities. The family owned business, currently owned by Xavier Ballús and his family, is the result of the merger between Enbasa (Spain) and Coutils de Laval (France). The company employs close to 80 employees and has a plant and offices in Sant Boi de Llussanès (Spain) and also has a sales office in France.

Next to the continuation of its existing business, Enbasa Laval will act as production and distribution hub for Bekaert Textiles products in South-Western Europe.

For Bekaert Textiles customers in this region the service level will increase significantly through the local production and warehousing facilities. Lead times will be shortened, smaller deliveries will be possible, and Bekaert Textiles will be able to guarantee the utmost flexibility towards rush orders. This set-up will also allow Bekaert Textiles to optimize the logistics business model in Europe.

For Enbasa Laval customers, the acquisition by Bekaert Textiles will give access to the innovative power and the extensive product range of Bekaert Textiles. Furthermore, the financial backbone of the Bekaert Textiles group will assure continuity in the current depressed economic conditions.

With this strategic step Bekaert Textiles wants to express its trust in the South-Western European markets and increase its market share in what the company considers to be strategic home markets.
