Clif Bar & Company, a US-based producer of organic foods and drinks, is set to construct a new bakery facility in Twin Falls, Idaho, with an initial investment of $90m.
The plant will be built in an environmentally-friendly way by pursuing an LEED Silver certification.
It will be designed to scale over time with the total capital investment potentially reaching $160m, while creating up to 450 full-time jobs. The facility will manufacture Clif Bars and Clif Kid Zbars.
Clif Bar founder, co-owner and co-chief visionary officer Gary Erickson said, "Today we're taking the next step on our journey by announcing our purchase of land to build a bakery in Twin Falls."
The relocation and addition of new infrastructure such as roads and utility lines will be backed by the Twin Falls Urban Renewal Agency through tax increment financing which will be paid back by the company in 20 years.
Focused on sports nutrition and snacks, the company produces organic foods and drinks, including Clif Bar energy bar, Luna, The Whole Nutrition Bar for Women; and Clif Kid, Nourishing Kids in Motion.
