BAC Sag & Hyvleri filed for bankruptcy at the responsible district court in Luleå. In an interview with the Swedish press, managing director Gosta Gustavsson said the situation was due principally to a decline in sales figures. On account of unfavourable currency exchange rates the company has lost significant market shares in its export division. On the domestic markets a decline in construction activity has also had a negative effect on overall sales volumes of lumber, planed products and timber construction elements.
