Indian Railways Commissioned The Diesel Component Factory at Dankuni on 28th May 2012

Indian Railways commissioned the Diesel Component Factory at Dankuni on 28th May 2012.The factory was inaugurated by flagging of the first engine block manufactured from Dankuni.Rail Coach Factory at Rae Bareli commenced its manufacturing activities.

This factory is manufacturing superior LHB type coaches which will help Indian Railways to mitigate coach shortage.It has manufactured 51 coaches up to November 2012 by sourcing shells from Rail Coach Factory,Kapurthala.The foundation stone was laid on 21st February 2012 for the construction of the state-of-the-art Coach Factory at Palakkad in Kerala.

The foundation stone for the commencement of work for the Ancillary Unit of CLW has been laid on 28th May,2012.

A Diesel Multiple Unit is being commissioned at Haldia.In the first phase the plant will produce one rake every month,while in the second phase,the infrastructure of this Plant of Haldia will be augmented through Public-Private Partnership mode to roll out 50 rakes of DMU annually.

Rail Wheel Plant of Bela has started casting wheels successfully.
