Business Establishments Are Replacing Their Male Staff with Local Women

Business establishments across Saudi Arabia selling lingerie are replacing their male staff with local women as the deadline for implementation of the agreement between the Ministry of Labour and the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice (Haia) draws near.

Last month, Haia Chairman Abdul Latif Al-Asheikh signed an agreement with Labour Minister Adel Fakeih that aims at creating jobs for Saudi women and banning men from working at lingerie shops.

Haia will start implementing the agreement from next week, MENAFN said quoting Al-Asheikh saying to a local newspaper.

Al-Asheikh said suitably qualified persons from Haia will start inspecting lingerie shops across the country beginning next week.

He said Haia members will record all violations at shopping centres, shops and malls, and the report will then be sent to the Ministry of Labour for appropriate action.

He added that Haia is following Islamic law and is protecting the dignity of Saudi women. Its aim is to provide good employment opportunities to Saudi women.
