Two New Steel Companies in Ghana Is Expected to Start Operations by The End of Next Month

It is learned that two new steel companies in Ghana is expected to start operations by the end of next month. The new mills are Jordanian-owned Rider Steel and Lebanese-owned United Steel Limited, their production capacity are 5,000 tons and 25,000 tons respectively. According a high positioned source at the local steel industry, the coming of the two new plants is positive news, especially at the time that exportation of ferrous scrap metals has been banned started from 25th March, 2013. Currently there are 7 steel manufacturing companies in the country, including the two new ones, which with a total capacity of 70,000 tons.
