UK-based multi-material packaging manufacturer Linpac Packaging has partnered with Addmaster to develop a range of trays and films with built-in antimicrobial technology to lessen bacterial growth on the outer packaging of fresh meat.
Linpac Packaging innovation director Alan Davey said the correct handling and preparation of food by consumers at home prevents contamination, and its work with Addmaster addresses concerns raised by its customers is helping them reduce the chances of bacterial growth.

According to the company, Salmonella, E.coli and Campylobacter are the common cause of food poisoning in the UK market which is a concern for the entire supply chain.
Linpac Packaging produces primary fresh food packaging and food service solutions.
