The Yield of France's Metal Industry Falls by 0.5% in May From Apr

According to the statistics released by France's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE), the country's manufacturing production in May this year decreased 1.1 percent compared to April, after a month-on-month increase of 2.6 percent recorded in April.

In May, France's production in manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, fell by 0.5 percent, following a 2.6 percent month-on-month increase in April, the production of the motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers industry increased by 1.7 percent, after a 5.5 percent rise recorded in the previous month, while the output of the construction industry fell 0.2 percent, following the 0.4 percent rise in April, all compared to the previous month.

In the March-May quarter of the current year, France's production in manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, remained almost stable, increasing by just 0.1 percent, while production of France's motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers industry increased by 6.3 percent, both compared to the previous three months. In the March-May quarter, the output of the construction industry in France fell 0.5 percent quarter on quarter.
