Leading Indian Fashion designer Rohit Bal is coming up with Indian carpet collections, in collaboration with Denmark’s leading luxury carpet company Ege. This is for the first time that the Herning-based multinational carpet company is tying up with a designer outside Europe.
Talking about his new collaboration with Ege, Rohit Bal told fibre2fashion, “This is the India I know, the India I love and this is The Indian Carpet Story I want to share with the world.” He assured that the new carpet collection will be truly Indian and it will have a traditional outlook with modern twist to offer global appeal.
According to Bal, the carpet collection comprises of two categories – wall to wall carpets to be used in hotels, airports, corporate offices, etc. and the other category will have the designer’s signature on them to be used in homes.
Syend Nielson, CEO of Ege, said, “Ege as a brand is proud to be associated with designer Rohit Bal from India. Rohit’s sense of aesthetics is finely honed and the handcrafted work reflects perfection as he brings to life his rendition of the true India.”

He further said the carpet collections will be sold globally in 65 international markets with Rohit Bal’s label.
Indian carpet collection by Rohit Bal will represent the diversities and rich cultural design heritage of India.
The new carpet collection will be consisting of designs ranging from floral blooms to abstract motifs including Fragrance of India, The Royal Garden, The Tranquuil Lotus, Field of India, Love of Nature, Abstract Universe and several others.
Established in 1938, Ege is one of the largest carpet manufacturers in Europe.
