According to the data released by metal trading enterprise Ukrainian Mining and Metallurgical Company (UGMK), in the January-August period this year Ukraine exported 17.9 million mt of steel products, up 2.3 percent year on year, worth a total of $9.3 billion, down 3.1 percent year on year.
In particular, in the given period, Ukraine exported 14.9 million mt of rolled metal (including 6.8 million mt of semi-finished products), down five percent,1.6 million mt of pig iron, up 22 percent, and 570,000 mt of ferroalloys, up 31 percent, all on year-on-year basis.
In the January-August period, Ukrainian imports of steel products decreased by 39.5 percent year on year to 883,000 mt, worth a total of $877 million, down 44.8 percent year on year.
