New Breakfast Boxes Has Been Launched by Malmo Aviation

The Swedish airline Malm Aviation has launched new breakfast boxes made from virgin fiber-based paperboards Invercote and Invercote Bio from Iggesund Paperboard.

The boxes which simplify handling and have a lower environmental impact compared to their plastic-based predecessors, save space on board and extend the life of the contents inside.

According to Iggesund, the outer shell of the box is made of ordinary Invercote and inside is a serving tray made of Invercote Bio to hold the fresh food. In order to increase the shelf life of the food and help prevent fogging, the tray is in turn flow packed with a modified atmosphere.

Malm Aviation inflight and lounge manager Malin Olin said the new breakfast boxes are smaller compared to the existing ones and more can be loaded onto each serving trolley.

"That saves weight and space on board and helps the environment. The boxes also have two parts, making them easier to use," Olin said.

Sweden-based Iggesund Paperboard is a commission company of the Holmen Group and manufactures virgin fiber paperboard.
