Toluene prices were hovering around US$ 1240/ton FOB Rotterdam in the initial days of September, which went up by 4% each in the first and second week of the same month and 5% and 2% respectively in the third and fourth week due to robust downstream demand and higher upstream product prices.
Prices started decreasing from the beginning of the current month. Ample product availability, softer upstream product prices coupled with dull demand sentiments supported the price fall.
Downstream buyers expected an increase in the supply of the product in the market in the near future. Toluene prices witnessed 2% w-o-w fall in the first and second week of October.
