Rakuten.co.uk will launch this October and Play.com will close in March 2015.
Online retailer Rakuten has revealed its plans to launch a new UK website this year and close its Play.com site in 2015.
The Japanese firm bought Play.com in 2011, but is now looking at shutting down the site next March and redirect traffic to Rakuten.co.uk.

The new site will feature new personalization tools, allowing its merchants to personalize their online shops with branding, categories, products and stories as well as create exclusive offers.
