Ohio Pack is set to invest around $25m to develop a new manufacturing facility in Heath, Ohio, US.
The new 135,000ft² facility will be constructed on a 20-acre site in the southern end of the Heath-Newark-Licking County Port Authority’s Central Ohio Aerospace and Technology Cente.
The facility will be used to manufacture blown plastic film, which can be used in raw material manufacturing.
The company is planning to invest around $13m for building costs, and to $12m on the machinery and equipment.
The new investment is expected to create around 55 full-time jobs in the region.
Ohio Pack’s new project is expected to generate $3.8m in new annual payroll for the state of Ohio.
The new manufacturing facility is expected to be operational in the first quarter of 2018.
The Ohio Tax Credit Authority (TCA) has approved a 1.55% and seven-year job creation tax credit for the project.
Ohio Pack manufactures plastic film, which can be used in various applications of the food and beverage industry.
Ohio Pack director Mark Kasberg said: “The Columbus Region’s proximity to existing food and beverage manufacturing facilities, the availability of real estate suitable to our needs and the support of state and local partners all contributed to our decision to open a facility in Heath.”
Ohio Pack’s project is one the seven projects, which secured approval of assistance in Ohio. The seven projects are expected to create around 641 new jobs and retain 846 jobs across the state.
