Eco-Friendly Textile Products Displayed by The Taiwanese Textile Products at Texworld

Environment-friendly textile products displayed by the Taiwanese textile producers participating in Texworld, an international textile exhibition, drew much attention of global buyers, said the Taiwan Textile Federation.

Everest Textile Co. Ltd., Danken Enterprises Co., Fabric King Tech Group, Handseltex Industrial Co. and New Wide Enterprises Co. were among the Taiwanese producers who participated in the four-day event held in Paris. The event mainly showcased eco-friendly products and items prepared with the help of green technology.

TTF, which led the Taiwanese participants at the event, said the Taiwanese pavilion at the fair was visited by over 50 international buyers representing several global brands like luxury apparel and accessory label LVMH Group, US fashion supplier BCBG, UK retailer Marks & Spencer, British fabric producer Courtaulds, South Korea department store E-Land World Ltd and Italian fashion house Max Mara.

While BCBG and Max Mara exuded their confidence in Taiwan-made fabrics, Courtaulds vouched to associate with Taiwanese firms in the long run, TTF said.

Besides visiting the Taiwan Pavilion, several prospective buyers also used Texworld’s i-Tex sourcing system while looking for eco-friendly items offered by the Taiwanese producers, it added.

According to TTF, in spite of the EU economy being hard hit by the continuing debt crisis, Taiwanese textile exporters still look upon EU as a niche market, particularly for products prepared with use of innovative technology.

Now in its 15th year, Texworld has become one of the Europe’s most important textile trade events, serving as a key trading destination for world’s fabric and clothing suppliers, wholesalers and retailers.

Looking to further promote the country’s eco-friendly textiles, TTF next intends to lead a delegation to Japan Creation, a fashion exhibition slated to take place in Tokyo in November this year.
