Dodge, a Chrysler brand, is set to roll off the production of its new Dart sedan at Chrysler Group's Belvidere Assembly Plant in Belvidere in Illinois US by this week.
The new sedan is the Chrysler's first vehicle built on Fiat Group architecture.
It will be offered with three powertrain and three transmission options, which include a new Tigershark 16-valve 2.0 litre four cylinder engine that will produce an output of 160ho and will be mated to either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission
The second powertrain option includes a Fiat 1.4 litre MultiAir Intercooled Turbo engine which will generate an output of 160hp and a 184lbft of torque and will be mated to either a six-speed manual or six-speed DDCT transmission
Its third engine is the new 2.4 litre Tigershark MultiAir 2 four-cylinder which produces 184hp output and can be mated either to a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission.
The new sedans driver and passenger safety features comprise ten airbags, reactive head-restraint system, Blind-spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Path Detection, three-point safety belts, front driver and passenger dual seat belt and retractor positions and activeload limiters.
Dodge claims that the sedan's new aero package for some of its models will enable to achieve 41mpg on highway.
According to the carmaker, the 2013 Dart will be offered in five trim levels which include SE, SXT, Rallye, Limited and R/T form 3rd quarter of this year, with a starting price of $15,995.
