Over the weekend of July 11-13, 2014, G&K Services, Inc. once again proudly sponsored the International Dragon Boat Festival for the Cure, a long-standing community event in Tecumseh, Ontario that raises money to support local health organizations engaged in the fight against breast cancer.
The annual three-day Dragon Boat Festival incorporates a mix of local music, food, and activities, culminating with the highly anticipated dragon boat races, with competitions including both student and adult teams. This was G&K’s fourth consecutive year sponsoring the event.
“Collectively, our commitment to finding a cure for breast cancer resonates throughout Windsor and Essex counties,” said Kevin A. Fancey, President of G&K Services Canada. “We’re proud to provide both financial and volunteer support for this event, which directly benefits local hospitals and health organizations in the Windsor community.”
Gerry Orum, President of International Dragon Boats for the Cure, said “It is not only the sponsorship dollars we receive, but also the volunteer support from great community partners like G&K that truly make a difference to individuals affected by breast cancer.”
Now in its 12th year, the Festival has helped raise and donate over $2.2 million for the Windsor healthcare community.
