O2COOL LLC, a leader in battery operated fans, misting fans and misting drinking bottles, announced it has acquired the assets of Florida-based Better Things LLC, maker of consumer products for use around the home, patio, pool and beach.
O2COOL’s purchase of Better Things expands its product offerings and strengthens the relationships with its many retail customers. O2COOL’s products are currently sold in major retailers, across multiple channels, including Bed, Bath & Beyond, CVS, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Home Depot, Lowes, Walgreens, and Walmart. The Better Things’ product line diversifies O2COOL’s assortment and enhances its portfolio of summer season items. Better Things’ products will be marketed under the O2COOL brand.
“Better Things’ line of high-quality pool, patio and beach products gives us more to offer to our customers, generating additional business for us and our retail partners,” said Eric Lockwood, CEO of O2COOL. “By leveraging O2COOL’s relationships, we will be able to bring Better Things’ products to more major retailers throughout the country,” added Lockwood. “I believe that product is critical, and I know that O2COOL will continue to execute on this vision,” said Harvey Katz, the founder and owner of Better Things.
Katz will join O2COOL’s team, acting as a product consultant.
“I plan to use my marketing and design skills to continue to do what I do best: create Better Things; innovative, useful and functional products with great design and excellent quality that offer high value to the consumer. Selling the company to O2COOL will allow me to focus on new products to continue the growth of Better Things.”
Better Things is best known for Boca Clips a popular line of beach towel clips that come in over 50 different styles. The line features various licensed products, including major universities, BATMAN SUPERMAN HELLO KITTY TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLESand ANGRY BIRDS O2COOL also has major licensing agreements including Major League Baseball and various zoos and theme parks throughout the country, including SIX FLAGS BUSCH GARDENSand UNIVERSAL STUDIOS Harvey Katz started Better Things, LLC in 2002, after 25 years in the toy industry.
