Arena Group's Arena Scaffolding division provided a special installation at Spring Fair International, an exhibition which showcased the latest products and trends at the NEC Birmingham, 3 - 7 February 2013.
Most Arena Scaffolding projects involve supplying materials as supporting sub structures which tend to be concealed. However, at Spring Fair International Arena's temporary scaffold display became a central feature point at the Trend Bar in Hall 6, visited by over 3,000 delegates.
Working closely with the convention's head of design, Justin Southgate of Southgate Designs and fabric suppliers Stitch, Arena ensured the highest quality equipment was available to mirror Justin's design concepts and create a visually striking display.
Each scaffold pipe was individually positioned at different height levels and formed a large torch shape fitted with pastel coloured fabrics and illuminating lights. Additional abstract scaffold features were suspended from the ceiling surrounding the main installation.
Martin Clark, Arena Group special projects director who led the two day intensive project, comments, "We have worked with Justin on a number of projects in the past which has allowed us to recognise what his expectations are and find solutions to any creative challenges.
"Using scaffolding as a feature point in the middle of an exhibition is a bit different to our usual scaffolding work, which is predominately support systems. This is a great example of how standard equipment can be used in a way that creates something truly unique."
