Esprit, the global brand of clothing and life style products has been ranked as "Leader" in the Greenpeace "Detox Catwalk", an interactive online platform assessing the progress made by major clothing companies towards a toxic-free future.
The Detox Catwalk assessment reads: "Esprit has the potential to become at true detox leader. The company has shown it is committed to cleaning up its act and ensuring its supply chain is free of hazardous chemicals. The well-known casual wear company has started a critical process to come clean on its chemical discharge data."

Esprit is also active member of the Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) group, a coalition of major apparel and footwear brands and retailers with the shared commitment to help lead the industry towards zero discharge of hazardous chemicals by 2020.

The Detox Catwalk assesses how committed companies have performed against key criteria; these include how they are working to eliminate known hazardous chemicals from their products and processes, and what steps they are taking towards full supply chain transparency. Greenpeace International’s Detox campaign demands fashion brands to commit to zero discharge of all hazardous chemicals by 2020 and require their suppliers to disclose all releases of toxic chemicals from their facilities to communities at the site of the water pollution.
