VODAFONE Renewed Calls for Review Into How Much Telecom Companies Pay One Another

VODAFONE has renewed calls for a review into how much telecom companies pay one another when their customers make calls to mobile phones, claiming that consumers have been ripped off to the tune of $1.3 billion by Telstra's intransigence to pass on savings to its customers.

Since 2004, the competition watchdog has been gradually cutting the fees that are paid for each minute a phone call spends on another mobile network, with rates dropping from 21c a minute in 2004, to 4.8c a minute today, a reduction of 77 per cent.
