The Yield of French Crude Steel Falls by 4.3 Percent in H1

In the first half of this year, French crude steel output decreased by 4.3 percent year on year to 8,024,000 mt, according to the latest data released by the French Steel Federation (FFA). In the given period, EAF output fell 11.6 percent to 2,979,000 mt, while BF output increased by 0.7 percent to 5,045,000 mt, both year on year.

In June this year, French crude steel production amounted to 1,378,000 mt, up by 2.8 percent year on year. In June, crude steel production in France using electric arc furnaces (EAFs) fell 4.8 percent year on year to 532,000 mt, while crude steel production using blast furnace (BF) technology totaled 846,000 mt, rising by 8.3 percent year on year.
