General Motors (GM) and its Chinese joint ventures have reported 11.7% rise in vehicle sales in the country, during the January to July 2012 period, to 1,616,550 units when compared to the same period in 2011.
Shanghai GM reported 6.5% increase in domestic sales to 736,613 units, the sales of SAIC-GM-Wuling increased by 17.4% to 844,121 units, while FAW-GM reported 2.9% decline in sales during the period to 32,551 units.
During July 2012, the carmaker and its Chinese JVs have reported 15.1% rise in sales to 199,503 units in the country during July 2012.
Shanghai GM reported 5.7% rise in sales to 97,064 units, while sales of SAIC-GM-Wuling reported 26.6% rise and has set a record for July to 98,694 units when compared to the same month in 2011.
During the period, sales of FAW-GM increased by 3.1% to 3,379 units.
GM's Buick reported 4.8% rise year on year to 52,691 units, while Excelle family sales reported 18.2% rise in sales to 21,727 units, followed by the Excelle XT and GT, which reported 27.6% increase to 13,112 units during July.
