Frontier Silicon has announced a Bluetooth-enabled audio module for 'wireless' speakers, docks and sound bars.
Called Tuscany, the London-based firm said it is for audio devices with any combination of Bluetooth A2DP streaming (AAC support option), dual band DAB/DAB+, FM with RDS and Apple Lightning (or Android docking).
The module has a detachable on-board Bluetooth antenna, a USB interface for smart device docking and field software updates, and support for NFC Bluetooth pairing.
"Firmware is pre-loaded with a variety of user interfaces for every product design," claimed Frontier. "System designers can choose to use Tuscany in standalone devices or slave to another processor."
