Flint Group has introduced EkoCure Ancora, a UV LED low migration ink developed for food compliant labels and packaging applications.
The EkoCure Ancora is the latest addition to the Narrow Web industry’s premier UV LED curable low migration ink series.
It is developed to allow stable curing at high press speeds and optimized UV LED ink chemistry.
Flint Group Narrow Web global vice president Guillaume Clement said: “EkoCure ANCORA expands our ANCORA low migration portfolio and enables converters to grow their business with short run flexible food packaging.”
In order to commercialize low migration UV LED flexo inks, Flint Group has finalized its investments plans at its GMP production capabilities in Sweden and the US.
Flint Group Narrow Web global marketing director Kelly Kolliopoulos said: “We believe strongly in low migration UV LED technology.
“The combination offers all the economic benefits of UV LED curing, including better press uptime and productivity and reduced energy consumption; along with the peace of mind converters are seeking for food compliant packaging due to the assuredness of cure.”
The ink is made available in the range of Pantone basic colors, 4-colour process set plus orange, green and violet for expanded gamut printing, opaque white as well as a range of coatings, adhesives, and metallics.
At the recently held Labelexpo Americas in Chicago, Flint Group partnered with two press suppliers Bobst and Mark Andy.
Bobst showcased its REVO process utilising 7-colour process with EkoCure Ancora while Mark Andy demonstrated up to 1000 feet per min on its LED flexible packaging press using EkoCure Ancora.
